Climate Action Through Art
The Wild Arts Collective (WAC) brings together eight Ottawa artists who use accessible, community-centred artwork to spark meaningful conversations about the environment. From greenspace protection to renewable energy and reducing plastics, our posters meet people where they are — in cafés, markets, and neighbourhood spaces — to inspire reflection, dialogue, and local action.
We are also a member of the CAFES Ottawa network (Community Action for Environmental Sustainability).
We come together as artists with a shared love for this planet
— our home, our source, our responsibility.
Each of us has chosen a lens, a story, a form to remind ourselves and others that
our choices ripple outwards, shaping the world our children will inherit.
Our common thread is simple, yet profound —
to inspire action through care, mindfulness, and truth.
Believing our actions matter can move us to protect what we cherish.
And we believe that each mindful choice and action,
no matter how small, is a seed for a liveable future.

“Art is at this point as necessary as science in the battle for the future. The poster is likely to be the place where art meets organizing, where it lends its hand most powerfully.”
